Zumba Zumba GaZumba Zeng!

I went to my first Zumba Class this morning!
Was it way Fun?  YES.
Did I get all the moves?  No.
Did I do moves that I wouldn't do anywhere else?  Yes.
Can I salsa?  No... not yet.
Will I go back?  Yes!

I'm pleased with myself for going to this even without a partner (like I did with Yoga as well).  In years past, I was so insecure I wouldn't go try anything new without someone with me, usually my man.  I like noticing my growth especially when it's so easy to think self-defeating thoughts.  No more.
Here's proof:  Me right after class.  I had my left knee in a wrap which it needed.  I felt a little strain on it so I took it easy.  Tomorrow I'm going to try running for up to 7 minutes if my knee will let me.

I also made some new Knox Blox flavors:  Raspberry/Huckleberry and Peach/Pineapple/Banana.  Yummo.  Brent comes home Wednesday night!!  Can't wait.

Have a FABULOUS day my friends and remember:

I remember coming home from my first zumba class (I actually think I blogged about it a while back) and telling my husband that it was more like dirty dancing! It took a while for me to get the moves down but once I did I was totally hooked. I think I might just have to go to another zumba class! Its been a while!

I can really relate to your personal growth statement. I never used to do anything alone either. I was hesitant to try new things. Now I am much more confident. Just today I rode the carousel with the kids! That is something I wouldnt have done a year ago for the fear of someone thinking or whispering "that fat girl is gonna break the horse!".

Good luck on your 7 minutes of running. I am telling you that soon you are going to reach a point where you can run miles and miles! I hope your knee feels better!

Have fun with the hubs when you see him!

I wish Zumba looked fun to me! I just can't get into it. Good for you for trying it and for making new goals for yourself now that you have reached your goal weight!

Way to move, Margene! I'll bet you'll be singing a new song very soon about getting down those dance moves. You're blossoming quite beautifully!

You're the woman!!! I tried Zumba once because all I ever heard was how much fun it was. And even though I had a good time, my hips were wondering what in the world was going on the whole time. Yep, they were moving in ways I didn't even know was possible. Oh my!!!

Keep up the great work my friend. I just love you!!!

Take care Margene and have a blessed day.

Good job for pushing yourself out of your comfort zone to try something new ON YOUR OWN! That is fabulous!

As for zumba? I LOVE it.....and i've been going for over a year now. I still can't salsa, i'm sure it's a horrendous sight, but who cares! I"m out there shakin' it!
