We are still on a journey of SIMPLIFYING our house and items. Today we are prepping our King Bedroom set to be listed on Craig's List. This is the last of our furniture that really does have any significant re-sale value.
This week, we thought we'd found a rental house for sure. It was in the right area, price was really good, and I was the first to call the landlord and to have a scheduled appointment to see it. She promised me that I was the first. I even told her on the phone that we wanted it. I had my 30 day notice in hand to deliver to our current landlords. Then, when I showed up (with application in hand), she had JUST SIGNED up someone else who showed up 30 min. before me unscheduled! Hello? Is there sense of what is ethical here? Is there any value to giving someone your word? Apparently not to her!
But, I believe NOTHING happens by coincidence and so I really believe we just weren't meant to live there. We love the house we're in right now anyway! Maybe.... maybe.... we somehow won't have to move or maybe... just maybe... somehow we'll be able to BUY a home in the near future! I don't know how or if and I don't know what the Lord has in store for us, but my husband keeps telling me that he's felt a prompting for us to be "patient". Maybe not getting that other rental house is just another answer for us to be patient. It's hard to be patient when you feel enormous pressure and stress; yet the Lord has ALWAYS come through for us, how can I not continue in faith even when I cannot see the road in front of me? I know my Savior is holding us in His Hands! I know He is holding YOU in His Hands... None of us are forgotten or insignificant to Him. We are carved in His palms!
And it's with that note that also think of today, Sept. 11th, in honor of the many souls who lost their lives and who gave their lives to try and save others. No greater love! I pray for the families of those who lost loved ones. We will never forget!

First, CONGRATULATIONS on that loss! How cool is it that you have both lost the same amount!?!
As far as the rental house, that must have been awfully disappointing. But, you're right, you know. God has it all worked out. If you're meant to have that rrental property, the renter that got there before you won't work out. If it's not for you, then you won't get it.
God has a plan. :) It's hard to rest when things are pressing in, but you're doing well. You are.
:D
You're in my prayers.
Deb
haha. the word verification was: presses.
Super cool about your loss! You and DH are Rockstars!!
We are also in 'rental house Hades' (for your kid's benefit), but you are right-things happen for a reason. Who knows, based on the lack of loyalty and ethics in that landlord, God knows what kind of horrible landlords she could have turned out to be...to me that speaks volumes. Maybe she would have sold it out from under you-since she seems to be after the buck and less about quality.
Anyway, keep your head up-and focus on that super loss so far!!

Congrats to you and the hubby...such a wonderful success! And yes, good advice from the hubby-be patient. When the Lord is ready for you to move-he'll move you! xoxo
You guys are amazing!!! Rockstars :)
What a wonderful outlook! It IS frustrating though.
As for your (shared) weight loss - a hearty congratulations!! You'll hit that 100 lb mark in no time.
You are proof it can be done!!
xxox
YAY - sooo great. Love following your story.
96 pounds in remarkable! Way to go!!! I totally believe in promptings so Mike is right and hurray for him for listening to it. Better yet hurray for him to be living a life that the promptings come to him. Good luck and hold on tight to the Lord, He will NEVER give up on you! smile.
Congrats on the loss for you and your man... 96 each is so great!
I think I agree with Polar's Mom about that potential landlady. She certainly showed a lack of integrity, or even common courtesy. Not someone I'd want to be in a business relationship with!
I'm sure it will work out for you. I'm having to remind myself even as I remind you: God has a plan. :-)

I am so proud of you Margene. Keep up the great work. And thank you so much for your kind comments on my blog. Your words are always so inspiring and encouraging. You have come so far and deserve so much credit.

Hi, Margene! I came over here to give you the Cherry On Top award, but saw that you already had it. So, I decided to give you the Happy 101 Award--but then saw that you already had it, too!
I had three to offer, but I chose the rercipients for each before I checked if they had them. The third award's recipients have already been notified. :{
So, just know that you were on my list--and truly deserve the awards you have received. :D
Deb
hahaha! I guess that I should add that since I was shuffling 3 awards with a total of 26 recipiants, I got a little confused and forgot that YOU were the one who had given me the "cherry" award to begin with. :}
I did have it noted on my blog, but in the sorting process, that bit of info fell out of my brain.
I loved getting that award, by the way. I had seen it on other blogs and liked it. chuckle. I was so tickled when you gave it to me!
Anyway, I didn't want you to think that I didn't know the award had been from you originally. sigh. I'd say it was a senior moment, but I've always had trouble sorting...
Deb
Margene, you guys are doing so wonderfully. It is amazing really the time and effort and all that the two of you have put together and done. I am proud to "know" you guys, really.
My cooking has been trial and error off my life. They just keep trying and hopefully liking. I do wish that one day I would write down a recipe while I'm making it so I could copy it the next time instead of another hit and miss.
The time will be right one day to be in the house that is meant for you. Like you said it takes patience and the Lord know just how long ours is.
I am so in the need of another family for my daycare and the Lord knows this. I am doing my part, being the best I can at what I know in my heart he wants me to be so I am hoping that before we lose the farm (not literally, but close) he'll provide. This has always been "HIS" daycare. I gave it to him even before I opened and I know that he'll provide when the time is right. It just is hard trusting because people want money, we like food, we love electricity, we like to go places and have cars to take us there...you know what I mean.
I will pray for you guys to find peace in being patient.
Take care and God Bless!!
Yes, I will never forget either. thanks for stopping by my site and bringing a smile to my face!
You two are unstoppable!!! Congrats on your weight loss!
I TOTALLY agree with you! Everything happens for a reason, you weren't meant to have that house . When you do get the house meant for you , you will laugh and say... thankfully someone else got that rental home 30 minutes before us! ha!ha!
Keep us posted!
Have a pretty day!
Kristin
