I got my first award!! Thanks to Diane from "It's Time"!!

The rules that go along with this award are as follows:
1. Give this award to 7 bloggers.
2. Share 7 things about myself you do not know.

I would like to give this award to the following in random order:
1. Lynn - I don't know if you have a blog but you've been a great blog supporter, thank you!
2. Lindsay @ Healthy Stride
6. Juli @ Juli's Journey

7 Things about me you don't know:
1. I've been a DJ for dances since I was 14. (Family Business) - and we're doing it again!
2. Both my husband and I are the youngest of large families (we pretend to be mature).
3. I have a bad habit of cracking my knuckles (since 2nd grade)
4. When I was young, my family raised and bred dachsunds - my favorite kind of dog!
5. 2 of my kids have Autism, and 1 of my kids has ADD (young motherhood was interesting)
6. I am a picture taker nut! I love taking pics of family & friends - I'm on my 6th digital camera!

Thanks, Margene. No blog, but I'm honored and I'll share:

1. My husband and I are the youngest of biggish families, too. I’m more mature than he is…

2. Back on the early 80’s, when I worked part-time in the Toy/Paint dept at Sears, my friend Diane and I won a swing-set building contest against two bigger/stronger guys. Go girls!

3. My favorite sister died from cancer at the age of 42 and she is my inspiration for not putting family/friend fun off until tomorrow.

4. When I was 6 or 7, I received a cigar box full of little toads for my birthday from the favorite sister named in #3. Didn’t hold it against her!

5. The coolest thing I’ve ever done is go on a church mission trip to South Africa with my daughter.

6. What’s on my white board at work for inspiration? “Be still and I will fight for you” a paraphrase of what God said to Moses right before he parted the Red Sea… from Danny Oertli’s song “Fight for Me”.

7. I decided it was time to lose weight because I want to be around to enjoy the retirement my husband and I are working toward and I want to see how our kids turn out!

Have a great week!

Thanks for sharing Lynn. I'm sorry about your sister... she sounds like she was amazing. That's cool about your church mission w/your daughter! I feel the same way about wanting to be around to enjoy my family as we get older. :) Looks like you are doing great on that!

Well, I don't know if my sister was amazing, but I sure miss her. Fortunately her daughter is just like her.. in looks, personality, sense of humor.

South Africa was way cool... we want to go back someday, but have to save our pennies... many, many pennies!

I meant to tell you... I liked Albert Ingalls, too. Such a cutie!

Thank you for the blog award!! How fun to be able to share such fun facts about ourselves to get just a little bit more personal.

I'm a knuckle crackler, too! Such a bad habit of mine!!

Sounds like you are a busy momma to your busy children. What a blessing for them to have someone who cares for them!!
